Farrow & Ball Setting Plaster No.231

Setting Plaster No.231 is a light pink from the Farrow & Ball Signature Palette, with warm orange undertones. It sits in the light band of the Farrow & Ball palette. It reflects a generous amount of light, which makes it a dependable choice for north-facing rooms, hallways and smaller spaces that need to feel open.

Using Setting Plaster in a scheme

Great White No.2006 is the white to run with it — it shares the same undertone, so ceilings, cornices and skirtings stay in the same key. For a scheme built on one colour, step up to Pink Ground No.202 on walls and down to Dead Salmon No.28 on joinery.

A 100ml Sample Pot of Setting Plaster is supplied ready-mixed in Estate Emulsion and covers roughly a square metre — enough to paint a test patch and live with it in your own light for a day or two before ordering a full tin.

Priming and light

Setting Plaster sits right on the line between White & Light Tones and Mid Tones Primer & Undercoat — ask us and we will confirm which one your surface calls for. Irish daylight is soft and often overcast, which pulls pale colours cooler on a north-facing wall than the card suggests. Try a tester on two walls first.
