Farrow & Ball Great White No.2006

Great White No.2006 is a light white from the Farrow & Ball Signature Palette, with a soft warm yellow undertone that keeps it from reading cold. It sits in the light band of the Farrow & Ball palette. It reflects a generous amount of light, which makes it a dependable choice for north-facing rooms, hallways and smaller spaces that need to feel open.

Using Great White in a scheme

Blackened No.2011 is the white to run with it — it shares the same undertone, so ceilings, cornices and skirtings stay in the same key. For a scheme built on one colour, step up to All White No.2005 on walls and down to Pitch Black No.256 on joinery.

Try it first

A 100ml Sample Pot of Great White is supplied ready-mixed in Estate Emulsion and covers roughly a square metre — enough to paint a test patch and live with it in your own light for a day or two before ordering a full tin.

Priming and light

Prime bare or previously painted surfaces with Farrow & Ball White & Light Tones Primer & Undercoat. Matching the primer to the depth of Great White gives truer colour and usually saves you a topcoat. Pale colours do the heavy lifting in an Irish room, but they shift between a bright morning and a wet afternoon, so test before you buy.
