Step 1: Get the correct size of curtains.
There are certain considerations about the size and style of your curtains, which take into account your room and the nearby pieces of furniture around it.

Step 3: Hang your curtains slowly but securely.

- Pencil Pleat Curtains: Tie the cords at one end of the heading tape. If you don’t do this when you start to gather the curtain, the heading tape will unravel. After that, grab a tape measure and check the width the curtain needs to be. Gather a few centimeters wider than you actually need.
Then, take hold of the loose cords at the loose end and pull on them. Pull on the cords evenly before tying the cords. Don’t cut the cords! Finally, insert the hooks and hang your curtains. It’s easier too if you ask someone else to hold the weight of the curtains while you attach them.
Can you hang curtains in a rental?
You have to check with your building owner or landlord/lady for this one but there are ways to hang your curtains without altering or damaging the walls of your rental room.
You may use tension rods or Command hooks and stickers. Others would gamble and drill a hole but make sure to reseal those holes and paint over them before you move out.
