Stellar Profile Matte 28 cm Frying Pan

The Stellar Profile Matte 28 cm Frying Pan is an uncoated 18/10 stainless steel frying pan with straight sides, a matte brushed finish and a high-conductivity base for steady, even heat. It is the larger of the two Profile Matte frying pans and suits cooking for a family.

Straight-Sided Skillet for Steaks and Sauces

The straight sides give a generous, flat cooking area for searing steaks, browning chicken and building pan sauces. With no coating to wear away, the surface will never flake or degrade.

The base spreads heat evenly, and it works on all hobs, including induction.

With 28 cm of flat base, you can sear two steaks side by side or brown four chicken breasts without crowding, which is what gives meat a proper crust. Once the meat is out, pour in a splash of stock or wine and scrape up the browned bits to make a quick pan sauce. Preheat the pan before adding oil, and food will release cleanly once it has browned.

Hob to Oven Cooking up to 240 °C

Sear a thick pork chop or chicken thighs on the hob, then move the pan into a hot oven to finish cooking through. The cast steel handles are strong enough to lift a full pan, but use an oven glove as they will be hot. Afterwards it can go in the dishwasher. If you cook mainly for one or two, the 24 cm Profile Matte pan is the smaller option.

It is oven safe up to 240 °C, so you can start a dish on the hob and finish it in the oven, and it is dishwasher safe. See more in our cooking collection or browse our kitchen and dining range.
