Little Greene Paint Boxington - Pale No.368

Boxington - Pale No.368 is a pale, muted off-white from Little Greene, with a yellow undertone. It has a light reflectance value of about 85, which places it in the light band of the range. It throws light back into a room rather than absorbing it, so it suits north-facing rooms, small spaces and anywhere you want to feel open.

Using Boxington - Pale in a scheme

Pair it with White Lead No.74, a white that shares its undertone; Loft White No.222, a lighter step in the same family; and Barge Stone No.360, a deeper one for adjoining walls or woodwork. These pairings are worked out from the colour values themselves rather than lifted from Little Greene’s colour card, so treat them as a starting point rather than a rule.

Priming and light

Little Greene tint their primers to the shade of the topcoat rather than working to fixed undercoat colours, so whichever primer the surface calls for, we mix it in Boxington - Pale. New or patch-repaired plaster takes Wall Primer Sealer; previously painted woodwork, radiators, metal, tiles and melamine take Intelligent ASP. Sound painted walls need nothing underneath — the Intelligent range is self-priming.

Irish light is soft and often grey, and pale colours take that greyness on. Worth putting a tester on two walls of the room rather than one, because it will read differently on each.
