Farrow & Ball Hog Plum No.CB1

Hog Plum No.CB1 is a light green from the Farrow & Ball Carte Blanche Collection, with warm yellow undertones. It sits in the light band of the Farrow & Ball palette. It reflects a generous amount of light, which makes it a dependable choice for north-facing rooms, hallways and smaller spaces that need to feel open.

Using Hog Plum in a scheme

James White No.2010 is the white to run with it — it shares the same undertone, so ceilings, cornices and skirtings stay in the same key. For a scheme built on one colour, step up to All White No.2005 on walls and down to Sap Green No.199 on joinery.

Priming and light

Prime bare or previously painted surfaces with Farrow & Ball White & Light Tones Primer & Undercoat. Matching the primer to the depth of Hog Plum gives truer colour and usually saves you a topcoat. Pale colours do the heavy lifting in an Irish room, but they shift between a bright morning and a wet afternoon, so test before you buy.
