Farrow & Ball Dorset Cream No.68

Dorset Cream No.68 is a light yellow from the Farrow & Ball Signature Palette, with warm orange undertones. It sits in the light band of the Farrow & Ball palette. It reflects a generous amount of light, which makes it a dependable choice for north-facing rooms, hallways and smaller spaces that need to feel open.

Using Dorset Cream in a scheme

Dimity No.2008 is the white to run with it — it shares the same undertone, so ceilings, cornices and skirtings stay in the same key. For a scheme built on one colour, step up to Tallow No.203 on walls and down to Duster No.319 on joinery.

Priming and light

Prime bare or previously painted surfaces with Farrow & Ball White & Light Tones Primer & Undercoat. Matching the primer to the depth of Dorset Cream gives truer colour and usually saves you a topcoat. Pale colours do the heavy lifting in an Irish room, but they shift between a bright morning and a wet afternoon, so test before you buy.
