Farrow & Ball Dayroom Yellow No.233

Dayroom Yellow No.233 is a light yellow from the Farrow & Ball Signature Palette, with warm yellow undertones. It sits in the light band of the Farrow & Ball palette. It reflects a generous amount of light, which makes it a dependable choice for north-facing rooms, hallways and smaller spaces that need to feel open.

Using Dayroom Yellow in a scheme

White Tie No.2002 is the white to run with it — it shares the same undertone, so ceilings, cornices and skirtings stay in the same key. For a scheme built on one colour, step up to Wimborne White No.239 on walls and down to Hay No.37 on joinery.

Priming and light

Prime bare or previously painted surfaces with Farrow & Ball White & Light Tones Primer & Undercoat. Matching the primer to the depth of Dayroom Yellow gives truer colour and usually saves you a topcoat. Pale colours do the heavy lifting in an Irish room, but they shift between a bright morning and a wet afternoon, so test before you buy.
