With many high-profile friends and important guests, they undertook a comprehensive refurbishment. Mount Stewart was the family???s summer residence, and Edith ??? who adored the house and its gardens ??? insisted on redecorating the entire property in a light and colourful way. She used this yellow-green on the Drawing Room columns as a highlight against the backdrop of dark pink walls.
