Blackfriar Patent Knotting 250 ml

The Blackfriar Patent Knotting 250 ml is a translucent amber solution made from pure shellac and methylated spirit. It seals knots and resinous areas in timber so they do not bleed through paint.

Seal Knots Before Priming New Timber

It is ideal for new wood, or wood that has been stripped or burnt off, before priming. Brush it onto knots and resinous patches inside or outside. Because of its dark orange colour it is not suitable under translucent coatings.

Quick Drying

Knotting is touch dry in 15 to 30 minutes and can be recoated after 1 hour, so priming can follow the same day. Brushes and other paint supplies are available too.
