Clear Varnish from Dulux is a high build varnish available in a choice of finishes. Durable protective coating for interior wood. Traditional solvent based formulation. Tough formulation to withstand knocks, scuffs and spills.

  • Drying Time: Touch Dry: Dependent on temperature and humidity. Recoat: 24 hours. Drying time will vary according to temperature and humidity and will take significantly longer in cold, damp conditions.



  • Coats: 2.



  • Application: Apply 2 coats of Clear Varnish from Dulux using a clean brush. Apply evenly and consistently, taking care to keep the 'wet edge' alive and finish off along the grain. When recoating allow at least 24 hours between coats. Rub down lightly along the grain between coats. Do not spread varnish too far.



Tips & Advice:




  • Preparing the Surfaces:












































    To get the best results, ensure surfaces to be varnished are sound, clean and dry. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. Remove all loose and defective coatings (e.g. varnishes and woodstains). Paint should be stripped back to bare wood. Thoroughly rub down all new, bare and previously stained or varnished surfaces that are in good condition along the grain of the wood to provide a key. Remove dust with a damp, lint free cloth. New or bare wood should be sealed with a coat of Dulux Clear Varnish Gloss, thinned with 1 part white spirit to 10 parts varnish, even when finishing with matt or satin finish.

    After use, remove as much product as possible from equipment before cleaning with white spirit.
